This series of books, similar to the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Gamebooks, was a single-player RPG adventure and used a lighter version of the Marvel Super-Heroes Role Playing Game (also published by TSR).
There were 8 books in the series which was released between 1986 and 1988.

I loved this RPG. The box set came with the module "Flight of the Octopus." I wrote a sequel called "PLIGHT of the Octopus" and thought it was the height of wit and originality when I was 11. My brother and his friend tested it out, and it quickly became evident it was an unworkable scenario. I was crushed.
