Agreed. There's simply too much white space in the top right. Interesting that the logo looks much different.
I don't think this is an alternate cover for X-Factor #9. As Jason mentioned, the logo is different (it was used much, much later in the run) but the telling tale is the artist signature. It says it was done in 1987, but X-Factor #9 came out in May/June of 1986.AL
