Nostalgically revisiting the comics of the 1980s since 2008.
John Buscema Avengers inked by Tom Palmer, from the conversation just after Under Siege. The black and white might mean it's a flashback and is from later issues, but I'll guess Avengers 279. And clearly from this panel, we need to see more of Cap in a suit with mask and gloves.
Yeah, I think it's 279 as well. Or maybe #278. I believe this sequence was part of her decision to step down from leadership after the attack on the mansion.AL
It's a actually a dream sequence, but otherwise bingram33 is dead on.Jan is overwhelmed and questions her abilities as leader, and nods off to have this little bit of nightmare. It's between the Siege storyline and the Olympus arch. The Wasp will step down afterwards…
Remind me - who is the 'dead wood' referenced? Doctor Druid?
"Dead wood" is probably a reference to Hercules who was in a coma at this point in time.
Great guesses guys. #278 is correct, p.8!As for the dead wood comment it was indeed directed at Herc and at Namor who had suddenly taken a leave.
It's Avengers #278, the Wasp is dreaming while she is in the new office in the Fantastic Four Tower.
