Nostalgically revisiting the comics of the 1980s since 2008.
Hi Jason and Jef. I saw on your tumblr that you've reached 50.000 followers. That's quite a lot, so congrats! Made me wonder the following though: isn't it a lot of work to publish your content on Tumblr as well as blogger? Or is Blogger still worth your while? Why did you guys start the second blog in Tumblr anyway? I'm just curious, I guess. Cheers!
Hi Michael, thanks for stopping by and thanks for the kind words. It is a lot of work, but I feel that as I've been forced to reduce the amount of actual writing I can do, that tumblr is a better medium for the waves of images I want to share. Blogger still bring in some small yearly revenue, but it has declined considerably this year. Tumblr doesn't bring in any revenue, but the 50k followers will hopefully open more doors in terms of conventions and opportunities. Take care, Jason
Hi Jason, thanks for replying. Monetising a blog is hard to do. I've been blogging for over ten years now, writing about comics, movies etc. and it's still a side project for me. I sometimes get assignments for presentations, interviews and especially articles because people know my work online, but the blog itself is a pure labour of love for me. Tumblr is a different kind of beast when it comes to blogging, I reckon. Indeed, more about sharing art, reblogging it with others... And it's easier to use than wordpress and blogger.Anyway, keep up the good work with sharing the love for 1980s Marvel - still my favourite period when it comes to Marvel Comics. Cheers!
By the way, have you seen this Tumblr? http://transmissionsgeekroom.tumblr.com It's a wonderful Marvel themed project that's right up your alley, I think.
Thanks for the link to my site!
