Those Worthy to Wield Mjolnir in the 1980s

Have I missed anyone?

Beta Ray Bill - The Mighty Thor #337 (1983)

Dargo - The Mighty Thor #384 (1987)

Eric Masterson- The Mighty Thor #409 (1989)

Thunder Frog (Okay, it was really Thor, but he was a frog.) - The Mighty Thor #366 (1985)

Storm - The Uncanny X-Men Annual #9 (1985)

The Captain - The Mighty Thor #390 (1988)

  1. Um, "Thunder Frog IS Thor. He was altered due to a magical attack by Loki, but he is still Thor. That's would be like saying Thor is worthy to wield Mjolnir. It's his hammer.

  2. D'oh - All that work cleaning up the cover, posting it up...

  3. I've always thought Loki's head was drawn too small on that cover.

  4. Those Thor's are the only ones I recognize. I hate modern marvel

  5. Somehow managed to delete an anonymous comment:
"I'm pretty sure WonderWoman held it in the Marvel Vs DC mini series."
    >> She did indeed, but that was 1996.

  6. Cool post, but I'm just wondering, didn't Storm wield a different hammer in that X-Men annual, forged by dwarves working for Enchantress or Loki or someone like that to simulate Mjolnir? (I don't think Thor even turned up in those stories).

I remember thinking that Captain scene was very cool. But it also made me think, wouldn't Silver Surfer be a good candidate to wield it? Guy was pretty noble...
