Micronauts #60 cover commission by John Byrne

  1. I remember him from the Hulk comics (his name was Sklop or something. LOL). The first Micronauts issue i had was #4 (which was 35 cents). I remember, it was a bloody comic. The blood was colored black, though (i think it was a Comics Code rule). Nowadays, the blood is bright red and all over the place (in DC comics, at least). Wouldn't mind reading those Micronauts comics again, in a Marvel Essentials, but i know there's a conflict of copyright, since Micronauts was a toy line. Byrne was doing FF and Alpha Flight when Micronauts #60 would've really been on sale in 1984, so i don't think he would've had the time to do #60. Remember Alpha Flight #6? Byrne had some nerve, to draw a comic full of blank panels! LOL He put too much time into FF #262 that month, i guess. I'll stop rambling now. :o)

  2. Thanks for the comment. We're all here rambling about the 1980s! :)

  3. Wow, never saw this one. Never missed an issue of Micronauts, even when they "relaunched" the series with Butch Guice on art (if memory serves). This piece really makes me wish there was an issue to go with it!

  4. Makes perfect sense to have Yellowjacket and Wasp appear with them. Oh the possibilities....This image made my morning. Thanks!

  6. Would've loved to have seen Byrne take on Micronauts back in the day. Actually, there are not too many comics that I didn't want to see Byrne work on.
