Agreed 100%. I think the fact that these were published as black and white plates really helped as I felt Anderson's art in Ka-Zar was muted by the colouring.
This is solid stuff. I don't really care for Ka-Zar, but who cares with art this good! The line work used for shading and textures reminds me a little bit of Mike Grell.
Wow!!! Fantastic! Ka-zar by Brent Anderson was one of my favorite characters and specially when he is drawn in black and white plates. And I was looking for this portfolio since a long time. Is there any book that Anderson published with his art? Scans are wellcome too.
I'm looking for other potfolios and many other materials. If anyone want to write me, here is my e-mail: johnnyquest50200@gmail.com Warm hug!!!!
Wow Ka-Zar is one of my all-time favourite heroes at Marvel and these are some of the best images of him I have seen.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are stunning.
ReplyDeleteThey are very impressive. Anderson is an under appreciated artist. I'm going to have to track down his early Ka-Zar work.
ReplyDeleteThey are stunning, the art is so much finer than his work on the comic which was great in and of itself!
