  1. I think that was from the 80's cartoon, animated special called Pryde of the X-men which was better in many ways than the 90's version. It's a bit difficult listening to Wolverine's Australian accent however.

  2. Hey Sparky, yeah, it was for the late 1980s one-shot special. I think they used the same voice actor in the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends episode featuring the X-Men.

  3. Wolverine should never be taller than Nightcrawler.

  4. Oh, yeah, I had that one on video back in the dark ages. Loved that the characters looked like their comic selves, although Magneto looks a little tall, and I suppose mohawk Ororo was a little too much for the kiddies. Definitely the tail-end of the All-New, All-Different era before the X-Factor/Jean Grey brouhaha.

    Great nostalgia post. Thanks!

  5. Hey dicecipher, agreed totally. Alan Davis addressed this when he drew Nightcrawler as part of Excalibur.

  6. Hey EJK, thanks for the comment. Always did love the Mohawk Ororo though.

  7. That X-men line-up from "Pryde of the X-Men" also were used in the arcade video game that was put out by Konami in the 90's. It was side scrolling game with like 2 monitors in the game cabinet.
