Marvel Comics Presents was the only american comic on sale in Ireland back in '89 & '90 except for Savage Sword of Conan and the odd issue of excalibur. It's crazy tinking about it. Loved those 8 page Wolverine stories with art by John Buscema. He drew a great Wolverine.
Jason, you have an awesome blog goin' on! You should have seen some of the Marvel and DC reprints we had years ago. They were larger in format with lovely glossy paper. Secret Wars was a weekly, and it reprinted comics from all over the Marvel universe. It was great. 1986.
sorry i thought my first comment didn't come through and retyped it.that's why there's 2, sounding like a dumbass. :-)I'll Never forget Buscema's work with Tom Palmer. That was an almighty run of issues. 255-nearly 300. Used to pore over those drawings. A real great portrayal of Namor the Sub-Mariner and Hercules by Roger Stern aswell.Great blog. love this page!

ReplyDeleteHey Sparky, that's cool. I've always loved Buscema's art as well, although I really enjoyed his Avengers run.
