1981 - Daredevil #172 and Frank Miller's original penciled art

Over at the Collectors Society Original Art forum, Nelson Animated Ink shared some amazing photocopies of Frank Miller's original pencils on Daredevil #172 before Klaus Jansen applied his inks.

Tip of the hat to Ferran Delgado and his blog for pointing me in this direction.

    thanks for the update, that's neat stuff. also it reminds me of why i don't like janson's inks, look how much detail gets lost!

    Certainly puts to bed any notion that Janson had to "save" Miller's art.

    Those pencils are super-tight! As the run progressed and Miller was more of a "layout" artist, it's hard to tell where Miller's pencils end and Janson's inks begin ...
