Secret Wars II Omnibus details

Wanted to clarify the extra content of this massive omnibus (which runs just short of 1200 pages!):

  • A 2 page illustrated introduction by main series artist, Al Milgrom
  • 24 pages of Sal Buscema's unpublished pencils for Secret Wars II #1
  • 25 pages of Al Milgrom's uninked pencils for Secret Wars II #1
  • 2 pieces of unpublished art, featuring different designs for the Beyonder
  • 8 pages of original art
  • 5 pages of the tongue-in-cheek, continuity-defying Secret Wars II crossover from Deadpool Team Up #1 (1998)
  • 7 pages of Secret Wars II house ads

Also worth noting, this omnibus doesn't include Rom #72 or Micronauts #16 as Marvel Comics no long has the rights to these franchises.

The omnibus reprints:
  • SECRET WARS II #1-9
  • NEW MUTANTS #30 and #36-37
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA #308
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #196 AND #202-203
  • IRON MAN #197
  • FANTASTIC FOUR #282, #285, #288 and #316-319
  • WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #6
  • AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #268 AND #273-274
  • DAREDEVIL #223
  • INCREDIBLE HULK #312

    1. can someone clarify for me what an "Omnibus" publication is exactly? i can somewhat infer from what i'm seeing here but anything someone might want to add to that as far as an explainition would be nice.

    2. Hey Dude, I've updated the post with a picture of an omnibus. It's basically an oversized hardcover collection, usually sewn and runs over 500 pages... Hope that helps!

    3. oh i get it. so the Secret Wars omni bus would have been a collection of both series plus all the tie-ins especially during the 2nd series in which the Beyonder made an appearance just about everywhere in the Marvel universe. i can't believe that licensing issue keeps Marvel from being able to at least reprint back issues.
because of this licensing handicap Marvel's attempt to continue the ROM legacy has been pretty disapointing. some years back Image brought the Micronauts back but despite not having the licensing issue it was never the less a disapointment as well. thanks for getting back to me Jason and keep up the good work i like all this 80's inside Marvel info. and art work.
