Artists like Michael Golden obviously spent a painstaking amount of time on their work (and I'm not talking about Golden's "'Nam" and post-"Nam" work, where his style became remarkably more simplistic)... It's the reason he produced precious few books in the 80s. Imagine if Golden had been given an unlimited amount of time, and ample compensation, for say, a four-issue, 48 page per issue limited series.
