I think that controversy aside, he managed Marvel to produce some of its greatest material of al time. Some of his higlight include: 1) Fran Miller s Run on Daredevil: The one that defined the character forever, and was the influence for Bendis and Brubaker. 2) John Byrne s Fantastic Four: Great stories, imagination, he gave the title a freshness and Inovation it lost since issue 100 or so, 3) Thor By Simonson: one of the most acclaimed runs on this character. This are classics, and Shooter was an important part of them , along with other titles, so in my opinion he did a great job.Patriciohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06285855932151463462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9202849355254208824.post-87299338257819393632011-10-01T05:54:32.451-04:002011-10-01T05:54:32.451-04:00Shooter had to deal with some big egos in regards ...Shooter had to deal with some big egos in regards to the creative talent at the House of Ideas. I give his tenure as EIC the highest marks in the history of the company, regardless of what his temperament or editorial style may have been.Estebannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9202849355254208824.post-12723438265054808312011-09-30T12:28:12.004-04:002011-09-30T12:28:12.004-04:00I may be wrong, but, based on how he comes across ...I may be wrong, but, based on how he comes across in his blog, I think Jim Shooter was more sinned against than sinning. He wasn't perfect, doubtless he made mistakes, but who hasn't? He always seems quite affable and approachable to me.Harryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04534554869387375467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9202849355254208824.post-23365600624829975082011-09-30T11:34:12.069-04:002011-09-30T11:34:12.069-04:00I know he is a controversial figure with all of hi...I know he is a controversial figure with all of his editorial decisions, but I still miss the continuity through most Marvel books during the Eighties, which I believed was, in good part, thanks to him. I also love how he portrays Doctor Doom, one of my favorite villains.Icecypherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17999359003183615788noreply@blogger.com
